Healthy Cheap Food

Argh, just another little tool to keep in contact. My husband set up a Twitter account for me and added my cell phone to it. He did it so that he can text me right from the computer. He is a heavy twitter user and has IM client logged in all the time.

I have mixed feelings about it. On one hand I like it because it’s a great way to stay in contact, but it’s also a way to become even more chained to the computer and that’s a bad thing. At least I am putting my foot down not to use it….yet.

I just heard that Intel cut the costs on their Quad Core processors. I think it just might be the time to buy a new computer. Our current main computer was bought used and my husband and I have been talking about getting a new one. Now is our chance!

I think we will need just to wait a few weeks for the new prices to filter down unless my husband decides to build our computer this time around. He built us one several years ago and it saved us some good money so maybe he will do it again.

And yes, we will be using Ubuntu Linux on it.

I want to get myself a new laptop to do some of my blogging from. I have put together three criteria for what I want in a new laptop. It needs to have long battery life, it needs to have wi-fi, and it needs to be cheap. I don’t really want to break the bank with a new laptop purchase.

I think the new Asus EEEpc is a good choice for me. I was at the computer store and it was right there. The keyboard is a little small, but it fits my hands perfectly. I am very impressed by the small size of the computer. It is so light and looks like just what I need. I am particularly impressed by the more than 3 hour battery life. It’s price is definitely cheap.

I am excited to buy this laptop….unless I find a better one!
